There is an important distinction between self worth and self esteem. Self worth represents our perceived value (our worth) and self esteem represents our feelings about our self at any given time.
Self worth is in fact a given, it is not something that we can earn or prove or achieve, given that we will always have value. Once the important step is made to acknowledge this many psychological issues begin to resolve themselves.
